Thick slices of golden honey butter toast, crisp on the outside, soft inside, drizzled with honey and topped with a pat of melting butter.

Honey Butter Toast

Serves  2                     Difficulty  Easy

Sometimes you just need a warm, buttery pick-me-up. This sweet toast is perfect for lazy Sunday brekkies or a cosy after-dinner treat with a cuppa.

Ingredients

1 Bakers Delight White Block Loaf, unsliced
2 tbsp room temp or just melted butter
1.5 tbsp honey
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
100ml thickened cream
½ tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp honey for topping (optional)

 

Method

STEP 1

Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius

STEP 2

Cut the block loaf into 2cm slices and remove the crusts to create thick squares

STEP 3

Combine the butter, honey, salt and brown sugar to create a thick paste

STEP 4

Coat all sides of the bread with the butter mixture

STEP 5

Place bread slices on parchment/baking paper and place in the oven for 20 minutes, flipping half way through

STEP 6

Remove the toast from the oven and set aside for 5 minutes for the outside to harden/crisp

STEP 7

While the toast is cooling, whip the thickened cream and vanilla essence. Top the toast with the whipped cream, honey and enjoy!
